Dr. Rachel Selman

PT, DPT, Cert-DN, CSCS, CPSS, TPI Certified

My name is Rachel – I’m a physical therapist, recreational athlete, wife, and mom of 2. I’m a firm believer in movement as medicine and want to use what I know to help you perform at your best.

My patients get better in fewer visits because of the time I’m able to give. Your appointment time is for YOU and you only. I’m looking forward to helping you perform at your best whether that means making the olympic roster, picking up your grandkids, PR’ing your next Ironman, or all of the above.

Rachel is incredible to work with. I truly enjoy my sessions with her and look forward to them. She is so knowledgeable and full of insight. Rachel has always been very honest with me during my treatment plan while also understanding my eagerness to still workout. She gives great modifications and recommendations so that I don’t have to stop doing what I love (working out and staying active!). I highly recommend her. Even 3 years post baby, I feel everyone can earn a great benefit from pelvic floor PT. Thank you, Rachel!

Dr. Rachel Selman is fantastic to work with. I leveraged her Labor and Delivery prep. It was extremely helpful and gave me so much confidence going in to my delivery. She makes you feel so comfortable and is such a great advocate for physical health! She gave me a lot of postpartum tips to regain my athleticism! Highly recommend her for l&d prep or traditional physical therapy!

Rachel is very experienced and very knowledgeable in what she does. She explained everything we were doing at every step along the way. She was always accessible if I had questions or needed additional sessions. And best of all - because of her good work I think I have avoided a painful surgical procedure! I would readily and happily recommend Rachel to anyone needing her physical therapy expertise

Insurance

FAQ

Do we take insurance?

While we don’t accept insurance directly, we do provide you with what is called a superbill which has all the codes required for reimbursement by your insurance company.

We strongly encourage you to send the superbill to your insurance, but while many of our patients do get reimbursed we can never guarantee payment on their behalf.

Not accepting insurance allows us to treat you 1:1 for a full hour in a way that is dictated by you and your individual symptoms as opposed to your care being dictated by insurance limitations.

Because your care is more individualized and we get the full hour with you, our patients typically require less sessions both in terms of frequency and duration as compared to the traditional physical therapy model – saving you money overall!

Dr. Rachel Selman

My hands-on training was completed with Georgia Tech basketball and the sports medicine department at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Post-graduation, I obtained my certification as a strength and conditioning specialist as well as a performance and sport scientist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association – each of which allows me to delve deeper into athleticism beyond rehabilitation. I’m certified in dry needling and specialize in orthopedics/sports medicine as well as pelvic health.

My research has been published in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy regarding elbow pain in college baseball pitchers as well as my work creating the first exercise protocol for pre and postnatal athletes. I’m also the founder of Stirrups to Situps – a program designed to guide athletes of all levels through their postnatal recoveries. I’m adamant about a lot of things – one of them is that motherhood and athleticism are not mutually exclusive, and the other is that physical therapy should go beyond just baseline restoration of function.
